This sexy R&B electro bop is about to drop and we just wanted to tell you that it’s going to be a biggy.
Thorne has been a name on our lips for quite some time, his soulful roots and blues reminiscent of Stevie Wonder and Erykah Badu have enriched our office playlist for over a year now.
In a collaboration with fellow pop/R&B new-comer, Georgia Bancroft, Thorne has produced a track that will undoubtedly become a staple in my WFH rotation.
With a revamped sound twinged with an electronic pulse, it’s a new and enriched direction for Thorne.
Georgia Bancroft’s pitched vocals are perfectly contrast to the richness of Thorne’s urban touch. The two come together to perfectly tell the story of differently placed individuals battling a friendship tainted by a romantic relationship.
A fan of collaboration, Bancroft has shot to the attention of Aussie music lovers recently after teaming up with Hui on ‘Abigail,’ - a track which has soared to around 70,000 streams.
Her solo debut single, ‘Golden Light’ was released in March of this year.
We’re excited to see how this musical relationships transcends, this duo is incredibly complimentary to each other and the result is a fusion of dance inspired seductive lyricism and 80’s retro beats.
Earlier in the 2020 Thorne released, ‘Do You Wanna,’ a cheeky and ultra sensual tune laced with charm and humour. The track’s video clip featured local Australian artists miming the lyrics and enacting their own performances of sexual innuendo.
We hope this new direction entices all who listen. Congratulations Thorne and Georgia on the bop.
‘Just Friends’ premiers tomorrow on the 28th of August. You can preserve the track here.
