Keaper

Founded in 2019 by vocalist/guitarist Ameya and bassist Julia, with the addition of band members Austin and Sam in 2020, Keaper is a Melbourne-based 'dreamo' audiovisual band. They create immersive, guitar-driven music inspired by 90s alternative rock, midwest emo, shoegaze, and artists such as DIIV, The Smashing Pumpkins and The Sundays. Doubling as a visual art project, Keaper combines art forms to provide a unique style of escapism reflective of the band’s interest in cinema, illustration and photography. Since early 2021, Keaper have toured Victoria twice and played close to 50 gigs at beloved local venues including Federation Square, The Retreat, The Toff In Town, sold-out gigs at The Worker’s Club and The Gasometer Hotel, and have shared stages with artists such as Alex Lahey, The Grogans, Mylk, and Soft Powder. They have also been a finalist in Fed Square’s 2021 Fed Live competition, as well as St Kilda Festival’s 2022 New Music competition.
